DECA Focus Groups & Advisory Council

As DECA works hard to develop practical solutions to some of Austin’s economic challenges, minority-owned businesses and thought leaders from the community came together to provide valuable insights.

The focus group sessions were facilitated by Jon Hockenyos from TXP, and zeroed in on four key industries critical to the region's development, growth, and services. Top concerns were highlighted and case studies discussed, as each group talked through topics such as better procurement processes and accessible workforce solutions. The findings and recommendations will be included in the DECA Regional Economic Equity Development (REED) Plan.
